I’ve Come Back to Earth

It has been about six months since I really posted anything of significance on here and four months since the last podcast. A lot has happened in this time as I was deeply distracted by a severe onset of creativity. This was great in terms of what it means for the production of new work but it has unfortunately meant the temporary sacrifice of most other things that don’t involve sitting in a garage or a shed and beavering away on my computer.

The good news however is that I have come out the other end of this tunnel visioned season with a new album, a novel and a bunch of artwork that will all make up a project I plan to release over the course of 2011.

It is the culmination of a series of ideas, characters and dreams that I have experienced since starting out as Atlum Schema five years ago. Without really anticipating what I would do next it has just completely fallen together since January and it feels like it was meant to be more so than anything I’ve ever done before so I am pretty satisfied.

Although I’ve only been consciously working on it this year it really is a project that draws together everything very nicely and feels somewhat like the thing I have been unconsciously working up to since 2005.

This is just a quick post to let you know that I have re-emerged from the depths and will be posting and podcasting like I was never away. I have merged my blogs together and given the whole thing a bit of a makeover, which will hopefully make it a little easier to navigate.

I will be starting a little campaign to raise some money for the release of One World Less at the start of October. You can read more about what it will entail here. I’m excited about getting it released and really looking forward to getting out and playing a load of shows this year. The new Atlum Schema band will be a big feature this year too, so prepare yourself to be hit harder than ever before!
