One World Less

I am excited to announce that there is a new project coming in 2011.

It includes a 16 track album and novella and will be released in four parts throughout the year.

The album will be released as four EPs alongside the four seasons of the book.

I am offering a very special opportunity for you to become a patron and make this project possible.

Putting out music as a DIY artist means that I have to fund projects myself without the help of a company behind me.

This model means life can be harder because the work we have to put into raising the capital to produce quality products is on our own shoulders. But it also brings about great opportunities, which allow us to connect with fans and encourage them to get behind what we are doing. This enables us to release what we want to do without pressures from people with unhelpful motives (such as profit).

For me, it is a really exciting time to be making music. Such a massive part of the whole process is the connection with my audience because I love to see and hear people’s responses to what I do.

I have come to the realisation that I don’t do what I do in order to make money (that would be ridiculous), but even in a fame and fortune as aspiration way I don’t see it as a means to this end. Rather, I make it because I have to and because it is what I do to make sense of the world. Fortunately it speaks to others as well and I have been so lucky to be able to produce stuff that my growing audience identifies with.

I have a dream for the way that this project will look and sound but this means raising the funds to make it happen like that. I wont let money stop it from happening, but it will obviously play a big part in how it can be released at the end.

This is why I am offering a number of pre-sale options between October and December 2010. So that you can become a patron of my art and be a vital part of making the release of One World Less possible.

If you would like to know more about the project, what it is and why I have done it then you should read the blog article I wrote.

I don’t want to bombard you with information here, suffice to say please do become a patron and know that you are making a real difference; not only to my own work but to the creative industries as a whole – you are helping to bring it back to the core. These are good times for artists.
